I have been a practicing attorney for 25 years, beginning in the fall of 1999. My practice has been nearly all transactional, merging traditional transactions with business advising and daily business law functions. I formed Schwartz Law in June 2017 to serve as an outsourced fractional legal counsel for small and mid-sized companies. I represent clients in business start-ups and financings, larger transactions such as business purchases and sales, and their day-to-day commercial legal needs. My firm's "sweet spot" is the "blocking and tackling" of commercial law, which connects me to clients several times a week. A significant part of my services consists of contract negotiation, drafting, and interpretation. I often serve as the CEO's or CFO's confidant and am seen as a part of their management teams. My first eight years of law practice in the downtown Rothgerber and Brownstein firms focused on corporate transactions, real estate development, and real estate finance. In 2007, I became the General Counsel of a travel and recreation company. I served in that role until 2017, when I decided to practice independently full-time as a sole practitioner. As a General Counsel, I handled "whatever came through the door," ultimately broadening the scope of my practice to become a business generalist.
